Learning Through Play

What is the best way to teach a child anything? By making it fun through play! Here the boys Sylvan & his best buddy Jaxin are learning about things that sink and float. They have toy cars and sand toys that they put in the man made tide pools at our local park. They had a blast and played for hours! Then of course some hair-raising fun on the slides!

Summer Fun for a Toddler!

Keeping a toddler busy over the Summer (and any other time) can be both fun and challenging! We recently tried out “water beads” that are a fun sensory experience and available on Amazon.

Last week we made time for friends at our local pool, park, and took a mini-road trip to Palm Springs. The heat was no joke so we planned the day during cooler hours.

Planning for the trip was so important! We left during nap time so Sylvan slept the entire way there and back. Otherwise, I was prepared with lots of snacks, toys, books, bubbles and his favorite “mom-approved” YouTube videos saved if we were able to get internet. If your kiddos get freaked out like mine being in a new place such as an Air BnB rental, use familiar items you brought to ease them into it.

We played with trucks in the gravel outside in the yard not long after arrival. Then came in for a snack in his familiar booster seat. All in all we survived our first road trip!
